Robben with Bayern contract had been due to expire in the summer of next year. Extension of the contract has not been a footballer from the Netherlands until the close season departure of Robben had led to speculation of Allianz Arena.
But the speculation has now been answered. Robben agreed to sign a new contract on Thursday (05/03/2012) local time.
"We are happy to have Arjen extend the contract one year before his contract expires with an additional two years until 2015," said Bayern boss, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bayern's official website.
"Arjen is an important player for Bayern and also the guarantee for the continued success of the club in the future."
Meanwhile, Robben reveals the reason to extend the contract with Bayern. In addition to feeling comfortable with the club, he also hopes to achieve success with FC Hollywood.
"I always say that I feel very comfortable in the city and at Bayern Munich. This is the reason I'd be happy to extend my contract before it runs out," said the former Real Madrid and Chelsea.
"This contract extension is the right decision from the perspective of sports. We have a great team, and I'm sure we will enjoy success in football in the next few years," he concluded.
