The Football - England Squad Announced, Carroll Can Height 9

The Football - There was no major surprises in the composition of the official England squad. Interestingly, Andy Carroll seems to be a mainstay in attack with Wayne Rooney - after undergoing his sentence.

Total of 23 names has been appointed by the manager Roy Hodgson. Scott Parker, Danny Welbeck and Glen Johnson will be retained despite the worries about the state of fitness due to injury.

While Phil Jagielka was appointed to replace Gareth Barry, who previously had to be pulled over because of injury. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jack Butland John Ruddy replace the injured finger in practice last week. Thus quoted Sportinglife.

In addition to the announcement of the squad, Hodgson also confirmed the number back to the players. Carroll gets share of the number 9, number that are often associated with the figure of central striker. The numbers are also subject to Carroll suda counter in Norway last test match.

This may be an indication that Carroll will be the first choice on the front line 'Three Lions', especially in the first two games against France and Sweden, when Rooney is a mainstay of England striker remains to be absent due to serving time.
