The Football - European Cup triumph in 2012 was not just so the assertion of hegemony in the world of Spanish football. Spain also gave joy to millions of people who are suffering because of the economic crisis.

Spain is one of five EU countries hardest hit by the economic crisis. Their fate is similar to Portugal, Italy, Republic of Ireland, and Greece.
