The Football - UEFA has set the
best player of Euro 2012. Selected as the Best
Player of the Tournament is a Spanish midfielder
Andres Iniesta.
UEFA announced today, Monday (02/07/2012), after EURO ended this morning, with Spain emerged as the champion after beat Italy 4-0 in the final in Kiev, Ukraine.
Iniesta, who became man of the match in the game, was selected as the best player on the decision made by the UEFA technical team consisting of 11 persons.
28-year-old player did not score a goal, making one assist, and three times a man of the match. Before the final he was the best player in the match Spain vs. Italy (group stage) and the Spanish counter-Croatian.
"Andrea Pirlo unusual for Italy, Xavi won this award at Euro 2008 and could have grabbed it again. Xabi Alonso is also very charming, but Iniesta sends a message about being creative and decisive, and he was outstanding throughout the tournament," said team leader UEFA technical, Andy Roxburgh.
