The Football - Arsenal manager,
Arsene Wenger, his
club's ambitions do not agree if
only measured by the number of star players he has.
He believes the
Gunners will remain ambitious despite the loss
of one star.
In the last few seasons, Arsenal unremitting release their key players. Call it the name of Patrick Vieira, Thierry Henry, Kolo Toure, Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas and sold to other clubs.
In the summer, 'Gunner' yet again exposed the issue of transfer of the star. This time, who reportedly wanted to go was Robin van Persie, their captain and top scorer last season.
Because the star is often sold, Arsenal is often regarded as a club with no ambition to win trophies in each season. Club officials considered only pursue financial gain only.
Wenger did not agree with that opinion. He said the transfer policy alone can not be an indicator of the ambition of a club. Similarly to the case of Van Persie.
"We are very, very ambitious. You know it. Not just very ambitious, but also very proud of the way we run our club," Wenger said on Sky Sports.
"For me, the size of a club depends on the size of its support. For other clubs, may be dependent checkbook. However, for me, it depends on its support," he added.
"You can not question the size of the support to this club. You can not question the size of the club as a player to go or stay. It had nothing to do," said the Frenchman.
