The Football - Fergie: United will not fail again in Champions League

The Football - Manchester United failed miserably in the Champions League last season. Felt it was learned from the mistakes of last season, Sir Alex Ferguson believes the Red Devils will not fail again.

MU Direct surprisingly eliminated in the group stage last season. In six games, they could only win two times and eventually compete with Benfica and Basel.

After descending to the Europa League any caste, city rivals Manchester City club also could not do much. They eliminated Athletic Bilbao in the last 16.

Ferguson clearly disappointed with the poor results. However, he has taken the wisdom behind the failure of his team and did not want to repeat the mistakes that he made.

"It's certainly not going to happen next season. There is no chance for it," he told the Mirror.

"In recent years, we take advantage of the group phase as an opportunity to play young players. Last season it backfired for us," said Ferguson.

"We are too much to change the team. We will not do it again this season," he said.

"I thought we were sloppy. What kills us is a home game against Basel (which ended 3-3). We could lead 5-1 at halftime, but we were really sloppy in that game," he beber 70 years.

"We were just unlucky against Benfica at home because we played good. However, in the match against Basel's really killing us. They're just regular team and they showed it was time to meet Bayern Munich."

"They were lucky against Bayern at home (Basel won 1-0 in the last 16 first leg) and they were also lucky against us. They beat Bayern (Bayern won 7-0 in the second leg)," said Ferguson.

When asked whether his team will now be able to win the Champions League this season, Ferguson replied: "Oh yes, definitely., Of course. There is no doubt about it," he concluded.
