Of the myriad of experiences that a player is 38 years old from Wales, Great Britain team manager Stuart Pearce did not hesitate appointed to captain the team in the upcoming Olympics.
"Stuart Pearce has confirmed today (Sunday) is that Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs, will be the captain of the Great Britain team at the London branch of football men in 2012," the FA statement on his official site.
"Giggs, the winner of the 12 Premier League titles, five FA Cups and two Champions League competition, will compete at the first international tournament.
"Gigss is one of the three players 'age' is allowed to rule in the Olympic soccer tournament branch, along with fellow players Wales, Craig Bellami, and back Manchester City and England, Micah Richards.
"Great Britain team will play their first game in half a century when they were against the Brazilian national team at the Riverside Stadium on Friday, July 20th," said FA.
