The Football - Darren Fletcher has been a long absence because of a disease that attacks the intestines. Ryan Giggs was hoping his team mate could soon recover and play again.

Fletcher has not played since November 2011. He was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, a disease that attacks the intestines. Since then, the Scotland midfielder was rested to cure the illness.

Fletcher could not even join his colleagues to do the pre-season preparations. Sir Alex Ferguson hopes that one of his players do not retire early because of the disease.

Giggs was a similar hope. 38-year-old midfielder Fletcher was expecting a speedy recovery. Giggs is also called, Fletcher did not think to play in the Olympics with such conditions.

"Fletch is trying to restore his condition so he can be fit again for United. So, I think he will not think much about her absence from the Olympics," said Giggs as reported by the Daily Mail.

"I hope he can practice and play again soon because he is a good player that are important to United and Scotland."

Fletcher, 28, was studying in college football Manchester United since the age of 11 years, and began to penetrate the professional level in 2002. On March 2011 he signed a four-year contract with the club.
