The Football - England captain Steven Gerrard, looked forward to Andy Carroll in the 2012 European Cup. He hoped Carroll could look like at the
end of last season.
Since the purchase of Newcastle United at the beginning of last year, Carroll does not deserve a lot of goals for Liverpool. The 23-year-old striker was only making 11 goals in 56 matches.
However, Carroll showed significant growth at the end of last season. He scored the winning goal against Blackburn Rovers and Everton on goal in the FA Cup semi-final. He was also goalkeeper Chelsea in the FA Cup final despite losing end of the Reds.
Thanks to the improved appearance, Carroll was called by manager Roy Hodgson to the England squad. He also had a great chance of playing in two games in Group D for the suspended Wayne Rooney.
Gerrard hoping Carroll get the opportunity to appear and could further prove its capabilities in Poland-Ukraine.
"At the domestic level, Andy may not want to end the season because he was in peak performance and played very well for us in the match-last game," Gerrard said in the Daily Star.
"Everyone is now the focus to the UK. All people across the country, including myself, will be hoping Andy can continue his performance in Liverpool to the international level," he said.
