Undergo Knee Surgery, Puyol Threatened Absent at Euro

Carles Puyol got injured (again) in his knee that required surgery. Have to rest for six weeks, chances Puyol performed with the Spanish national team in the European Cup was threatened.

"After tests conducted ruled that the players have to undergo arthroscopic surgery next Saturday, May 12. Roughly it should be out for six weeks," said an official statement on its website Barcelona.

Since last year's Puyol has a knee problem which required him sidelined throughout the second half of season 2010/2011. In this season Puyol several times absent from the same problem.

With the knee injury, Puyol should rest for a month or more is not going to follow the European Cup, the next kickoff June 8.

Meanwhile, La Furia Roja will embark on a mission to defend the title against Italian champion next June 10. Puyol loss is certainly bad news for Vicente Del Bosque who rely heavily on 32 year old defender was in the back.
