the football
the football - Tottenham Hotspur will struggle to finish in the Champions League last week's Premier League. Had the Spurs failed to achieve it, Benoit Assou-Ekotto did not rate it is a failure.

Spurs currently sit fourth in the standings with 66 points, one point ahead of Newcastle United at the bottom and one point adrift of Arsenal in third place.

Due to a shoulder injury, Assou-Ekotto certainly absent in the final match when Spurs entertain Fulham at White Hart Lane on Sunday (05/13/2012) night.

A victory would ensure the pace of Harry Redknapp's squad to the bully club competition in Europe next season.

"No, I do not think finishing outside the top four will be called a failure," said the Cameroon international defender told Sky Sports in the event of the Best of Africa.

"People forget we only finished in the top four once in a very long time (in season 2009-10), but I thought there would be disappointing if we fail," continued Assou-Ekotto.

"Our fans will not get a good summer. So also with the players, it would not be fun and I know the boss will not like it so everyone would not jump and laugh.

"But people are not going to cry because we are not degraded, and we are still one of the best teams in England," he added.
